Has anyone considered switching from TestLodge to another test management tool?

Should we use a different test management tool instead of TestLodge? Has anyone switched from TestLodge and found better alternatives , and if so, what made the change worth it?

Moved away from TestLodge 18 months ago.

  • Fine for small manual-only teams. Hits its ceiling fast beyond that.
  • Explored a couple of open-source and paid options, landed on TestMu’s Test Manager. High AI capability, unified test execution, with excellent customer support.
  • Reporting is better, the API is usable, it handles growing test suites well.

If automation is anywhere on your roadmap, factor that into this decision now

Three questions I ask before recommending any tool switch:

  • What specifically is failing? Reporting? Integration? Scale? Name the problem before shopping for solutions
  • Can you export existing test cases cleanly? Migrations catch teams by surprise more often than they should
  • Will the new tool grow with you, or are you solving today’s problem while creating tomorrow’s?

If the answer is yes to switching, then open-source can be landing spots.
